​MISSION AND HISTORY

The Diabetic Youth Center ( TDYC) supports young people ages 5- 21 that has been diagnosed and is now living with type 1 or 2 diabetes . TDYC wants to improve their quality of life through various programs consist of  healthy meals, exercises, education, and training. We are Located in South Florida, but will service both dade and broward county. We Take pride in serving the youth and there families and the community.

HISTORY

The Diabetic Youth Center has been in operation since 2011 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Florida.  It was established by Marcella Robinson, Founder and CEO.

​

VISION

Our vision is to empower young people living with diabetes with the knowledge and resources they need to stay healthy, optimistic about their future and happy in their lives. Along with direct support of participants and their families, The Diabetic Youth Center will  also provide quality medical care and information for those whose limited access to health care would endanger their lives.

Diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases in school-aged children, affecting about 208,000 young people in the United States. According to recent estimates, about 23,500 youths are diagnosed with type 1 and type 2 diabetes each year.
